Top 10 Actors to be in Star Wars

Now that we have a director for Star Wars, people have been wondering who will be cast for the upcoming movie. I will be giving my top 10 actors I would like to see in Star Wars. I will only be naming actors. I will post my picks for top 10 actresses at some point in the near future. Also, I will only be naming actors who have not been in Star Wars. Although I would like to see Mark Hamill, and Harrison Ford back they will not be on this list.
Number 10: Nathan Fillion, Fillion has been in Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog, Castle, Firefly and Serenity. He's done Sci-Fi before and I think he'd be a good pick to play a bounty hunter because he's played something similar to that in Firefly and Serenity. Number 9: Idris Elba, he's been in Thor, and Prometheus he's a very good actor I'd love to see him as a new jedi. Number 8: Tom Hardy, he's been in The Dark Knight Rises, Warrior, and Inception. He could be a good guy or a villian. He's one of my favorate actors right now and He'd be a great fit for Star Wars. Number 7: David Boreanaz, He's known for his role in the FOX crime drama Bones. He'd be a great pick to be a jedi or I could also see him as a bounty hunter. Number 6: Sean Bean. Sean Bean has been in Lord of the Rings and most recently Game of Thrones. He'd be a great pick to play a jedi.
Those were my 10-6 picks, now I'll move on to my 5-1 picks. Number 5: Cillian Murphy. Murphy was in all 3 Dark Knight movies and Inception. I think he'd be a great Sith Jedi. He did a great job playing a twisted character in the Dark Knight trilogy. He'd be great in Star Wars. My number 4 pick is another one of my favorate actors today. Number 4: Joseph Gordon-Levitt. He's been Looper, The Dark Knight Rises, 50/50, and Inception. I doubt he'll be in it, but he'd be a great pick for a jedi, or a bounty hunter. Number 3: Another Lord of the Rings actor Viggo Mortenson. Mortenson would be a great pick for a jedi master. I loved him in Lord of the Rings He would be fantastic in Star Wars. Number 2 and Number 1 I flip-flop in my head a lot. But these 2 would both be amazing in these movies. Number 2: Benedict Cumberbatch. He's going to be the villian in Star Trek 2, he was Sherlock Holmes in the BBC Sherlock series, and he's going to be the voice of Smaug in The Hobbit 2. I imagine Cumberbatch leading a Sith resurrection and I start geeking out. But he would also make a great good guy to. I would prefer it if he would be a Sith. With him being in Star Trek 2 he's worked with J.J Abrams before, so I think it's very possible he'd be in this movie. Number 1: Micheal Fassbinder, he's mainly known for playing Erik Lencherr a.k.a Magneto in X-Men First Class. He was fantastic in that. He'd be a great pick to be a smuggler or something like that. If the original trilogy were made today he would be my pick to play Han Solo.
So that's my top 10 picks to be in the upcoming Star Wars movies. As I said above I will have a top 10 actresses post coming soon. I will also post any other news regarding the movie as they happen.

J.J Abrams to direct Star Wars episode VII

This is why I hate night classes I go out for a few hours I'm nowhere near a news source and I miss news like this. It has been announced that J.J Abrams will direct the new Star Wars movie. If you ask me, the fans have won. Disney bought LucasFilm last fall and it was announced then that a new Star Wars movie was coming out in 2015. My regular readers may remember my post about that. When the news first hit that new Star Wars movies were coming out, J.J Abrams' name was thrown around as a possible director. However he originally said he had no plans to direct the trilogy. Today he announced he would direct it.
J.J Abrams rebooted Star Trek in 2009 and before he did, Star Trek was dead. Abrams made it relevant again. As a life long Star Wars fanboy I know Star Wars isn't anywhere near where it used to be. The prequals took Star Wars off its petistol and matters were made worse every time the original trilogy was released in a new format. Because of all the tweaks George Lucas made to the original trilogy over the years,     The overall quality of the film took a hit in my opinion. But now with J.J Abrams at the helm, I believe Star Wars has a legitimate shot at redemption. The only person who may have been a better choice for Star Wars in my opinion is Joss Whedon. He would be a perfect choice but The Avengers 2 is also slated to be released in 2015. However J.J Abrams was one of my top choices. I was a little let down when I heard he had no plans to direct it. But now I'm even more psyched for this movie than I was before.
I give George Lucas a lot of hate for the prequals, and for all the tweaks to the original trilogy. But him selling Star Wars to Disney was a great move on his part for 2 reasons. Number one the 4 billion dollar paycheck, and secondly he gave the fans what they want. I want to see what J.J Abrams can do with Star Wars. I can't wait to see what he'll bring to the table. 2015 can't get here fast enough.

Looper Review

I never went to see Looper in theatres, but I've heard many good things about it. So last week I went ahead and picked up the movie on blu-ray. After watching it I felt the need to write about it.
Looper takes place in the year 2044. Time travel hasn't been invented yet, but it will be in the future. It will be immediatley outlawed and is only used by big criminal syndicates. Whenever the mob wants to get rid of someone they send them back in time where a looper is waiting to kill them and dispose of their bodies. Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays a looper and things are going well for him until the day when the mob decides to "close the loop" they send back his future self played by Bruce Willis. The first time I saw a trailer for this movie I thought that was all there was to it, but its not there are layers to this movie.
One of the big strengths to this movie is there's great dialogue. There's intense dialogue, there's small talk, etc. One thing I love about Joss Whedon scripts and Quentin Tarantino scripts is that aside with big action scenes in their movies there's also alot of great dialogue. This movie was written and directed by Rian Johnson and I would say he's one director to look out for in the coming years.
One thing I will say is that there's a kid in this movie. A kid in a sci-fi/action movie almost never works out. However this character makes sense. It made sense to me that he was in this movie. Most kids in sci-fi/action movies just end up annoying me but not in this case.
I remember I really wanted to see this movie in theatres. Mainly because Bruce Willis is one of my favorate actors, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt is an up and coming star. This movie pleasently suprised me. I really enjoyed this movie. I'll give this movie 4.7 out of 5 stars. It was definatley one of the best movies of 2012.

Django Unchained Review

I have your curiosity, I hope to gain your attention. So I'll just get right into this review. Django Unchained. Starring Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo Dicaprio, and Samuel L. Jackson. Is this one of Tarantino's best films, or is it forgettable?
When I first saw the trailer for this movie, I was instantly curious. Whenever a new Tarantino releases a new movie, I really want to see it. Say what you will about his movies, about how violent they are, and all the racial slurs. I like Tarantino films because he's great with storytelling, and because only he can put racial slurs in a movie and nobody will get offended. There's always great dialougue in Tarantino films. So Django Unchained is about a slave who gets set free and gets hired by Dr. King Shultz as a bounty hunter. In return Dr. Shultz will help Django track down his wife who is still enslaved.
The Acting in this movie was fantastic Jamie Foxx as Django he was very good, but the Best performance in my opinion was Christoph Waltz. He was so funny in this movie. Leonardo Dicaprio played the main bad guy he was fantastic as well. I really bought into his character I was thinking to myself "Wow he is such a bad guy." That usually means he did a good job.
The first half of this movie I was laughing so hard it was so funny, and the second half of the movie it got more serious. My only problem with this movie is it dragged on for the last half hour or so. One scene is about to end and you think that its over, but then another scene starts.
Overall, I really enjoyed this movie I can't wait to watch it again. My favorate Tarantino film is Pulp Fiction, but this one is probably second. I give this movie 4.5 out of 5 stars.
