I promise all my readers, this is the last time I'll blog about anything Hunger Games related until November 2013 when the Catching Fire movie comes out. So you know the plot by now so I'll just plow right into it.
Jennifer Lawrence played Katniss and she did a great job. I believe she will be nominated for Best Actress this year. The other actors I really liked where Woody Harrelson as Haymitch, and Donald Sutherland as President Snow. Haymitch is Katniss and Peeta's mentor. He was a drunk slob which Harrelson played well, and he had some humorous lines. Donald Sutherland as President Snow, who is the President of Panem, he has a smaller role. But he was very good in the scenes he was in.
I'll start out with what I didn't like about the movie. I didn't like the long countdown before The Games started, I thought that was longer than it needed to be. When The Games first started, I thought the camera work was kind of lackluster. The scene when Katniss and Peeta are in the cave healing from their wounds, I thought the writing for that scene could have been better. Because that's a pivitol scene, thats the scene when the romance between them is supposed to start. But I was not convinced that they were in love until the end.
However the movie has its good points as well. The movie kept true with the book for the most part. I hate it when a movie based off a book deviates from the book. And the action scenes were good. As mentioned before the acting was good.
The movie didn't quite live up to the hype, but I still was able to enjoy it. I'll give it 3.5 stars out of five. It's not as good as the book, but it totally holds up.

The Mockingjay Review
In this finale to The Hunger Games Trilogy, the nation of Panem is on the brink of war. Katniss must accept her role as the symbol of the rebellion, The Mockingjay. The personal conflict she has is, to become the rebel's Mockingjay, she must cast aside all her personal feelings no matter how high the cost. The battle for Panem has begun. Will Katniss accept her role, or will The Rebellion fail?
In this book, there is more personal conflict not only with Katniss but with other characters as well. Peeta and Gale deal with personal conflict. I will not tell what the conflict is, because I don't want to spoil anything. One thing I didn't like in this book is that it starts slow. I didn't expect this because of how dramatic the end of Catching Fire was, I was hoping that the beginning would have some action. However it does pick up pretty quickly.
When I had about 10 chapers left in this book, I didn't put it down until I was finished. I had to see how the story was going to end. I was very satisfied with the ending. It was the perfect way to end the series. Katniss chooses who she will be with. As mentioned before, I don't want to spoil. So I won't reveal who it is.
In my opinion, this the darkest book in the series. This is not a happy book. It's very intense and sad. I came as close to crying while reading this than I have while watching a movie. However, I really enjoyed this book. It kept me up nights while I was reading it, and It still keeps me up from time to time. I just like thinking about it. After I finished the book, I missed being in suspense. I had a so much fun reading this book. I give it 4 stars out of five.

Memorial Day: What it's Really About
Alot of people see Memorial Day as just a day off from school or work. It's fine to be happy that you don't have to go to school or work today, but thats not what this day is for. The purpose of this day is to honor fallen veterens and other veterans defending our great nation.
My grandfather served in WWII, my uncle was in The Navy during The Cuban Missile Crisis, I have a cousin that was an MP in Louisiana 10 years ago, I have two neighboors that are Vietnam Veterans, and I have other friends and reletives that have served our country in one way or another. So Memorial Day means alot to me.
It makes me mad when people hesitate to call fallen veterans heroes. Because the veterans died to keep us out of harms way. It also makes me mad when people only see this as a day off, because it seems like they don't care about our veterans. The people who don't respect our veterans are so ignorant. As mentioned before, the fallen veterans died to keep us safe. But they also died for freedom. something that citizens of this country take for granted.
It's fine to be happy that you have today off. I don't have to work today and I'm enjoying my day off. But I encourage all my readers if you know someone who has served our country in one way or another, let them know you are thankful to them for serving our country.

Catching Fire Book Review
Catching Fire is the second book in The Hunger Games series. It picks up where the first book left off. Katniss and Peeta have survived the Hunger Games. But they are having trouble returning to their normal lives. As they prepare to go on their victory tour, Katniss gets a mysterious visitor. Rumors of an uprising against The Capitol are catching fire. An uprising Katniss and Peeta provided the spark for. Katniss and Peeta must prove that they are in love, or get punished.
Like in the first book, the ending of each chapter is very dramatic and intense. There are all kinds of twists in the plot that make putting the book down harder to do. There were nights when I would read a couple chapters, and I couldn't stop thinking about it. I was anxious to see what would happen next.
In Catching Fire, new characters enter the mix. It's interesting to see if they are trying to help Katniss and Peeta, or if they are conspiring against them. The character development is amazing in this book, I thought it was better than it was in the first book. I think the best example of this is Gale. I think Gale undergoes the most change and development.
This was the best book in the series. I can't think of any flaws in it. I think this was darker tha Hunger Games. I would advise anyone make sure you have The Mockingjay next to you when you near the end of this book. Because the ending is vert intense, and you don't want to be left hanging for too long. I didn't think this would be better than the Hunger Games, I was pleasantly surprised. This exceeded all my expectations. It gets five stars out of five.

The Hunger Games Book Review
It's been a couple months since I read The Hunger Games books and saw the movie. But it's still fresh in my mind, So I decided to review it. The Hunger Games is set in a futuristic world. In the ruins of what once was North America, The evil Capitol forces its twelve districts to offer up in tribute one male and female between the ages of twelve and eighteen, to fight in a nationally televised game to the death. The winner gets extra food for themselves and their districts. Most importantly, they live.
The story begins on the day when the districts select the tributes. The District where the main characters are from is District 12. When sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen's younger sister Prim gets selected, Katniss volunteers to take her place. She coinsiders it to be a death sentence. However things get interesting when she meets her fellow tribute from District 12 Peeta Mellark. Katniss must ultimatley choose between life against love.
One thing I loved about the book is that every chapter has some sort of twist ending. I would sit down and think to myself "I'll read a chapter" but I could never put it down after just one chapter because the ending of each chapter is so intense. I always wanted to know what would happen next in the story.
The other thing that stuck out to me was character development. This is something I always look at when I read a book or watch a movie. I like to see how the characters change and mature. I really liked the metamorphesis that Katniss and Peeta undergo as the story goes on as they make choices that may very well determine their fate.
Overall I havn't enjoyed a book like this in a long time. I never wanted to stop reading. I would recommend this book to anybody. It's not just an action book, It's a romantic book. There's something in it for everybody it gets 5 out of 5 stars

Attitude: It Makes a Diffrence.
Until about a month ago, I had some trouble finding a job. I graduated from high school last May, and at that time I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I had thoughts of joining The Navy, I had thoughts of going to college to be a school teacher, and I had thoughts of going into law enforcement. I needed to take some time off and discover who I am. I had decided to take a year off and find a job. The problem was after months of applying at various places, I had gotten no job offers.
About 2 months ago my dad and I thought the reason i had trouble finding a job was because i didn't have any work expirience. In this difficult economy, employers tend to hire expirienced workers. My dad called my uncle who owns a service station to ask him if i could work at the station. My uncle said I could work there however, I'm not getting paid. I'm more like an intern. When I first started working there, I didn't think I'd enjoy working there. I thought I'd be an outcast among all the other workers there, and that I wouldn't be to happy there knowing that I wouldn't get paid for my work. I couldn't have been more wrong! I really enjoy working with my uncle. I'm not an outcast among the other workers in fact, it's just the opposite. They really appreciate the work I do around there. Another thing that helped me along is my attitude. Usually my attitude gets in the way of my sucess. But I decided to just work hard and let the chips fall where they may. After all, I don't fully know what lies ahead of me. But my attitude has helped win the approval of my uncle and all the employees.
Attitude does indeed matter in society today. I believe life is 10 percent what we're given, 90 percent is what we make of it. If we just complain about how things don't go our way, we won;t achieve much. However if we decide to make the best of what we're given, we will achieve more than we thought possible.

How I Met Your Mother Season 7 Finale Review
If you didn't watch the Season Finale of How I Met Your Mother tonight and you plan on watching it, close this blog now. Because this does have spoilers. The episode begins with Lily in labor, and Marshall and Barney are in Atlantic City so they must find a way to get back to New York. While Marshall and Barney are on their way back, Ted and Robin must get Lily to the Hospital and keep her going until Marshall gets there. The scenes when Marshall and Barney are trying to find a way to get out of Atlantic City are very humorous, as are the Scenes when Ted and Robin try to take care of Lily while she's in labor.
While the episode was very humorous, it was also very dramatic. Ted has a meeting with his ex-girlfriend from season one, Victoria. Victoria who is supposed to get married asks Ted if he would take her back, and Ted originally says no but then he remembered how happy he was with her and he changed his mind. Barney and his girlfriend Quinn are stuck in airport security before they go on a trip to Hawii. In this scene Barney asks Quinn to merry him and she says yes. However as we all know Ted meets the mother of his kids at barneys wedding. They flash forward to Barney's wedding and we find out that the woman Barney merries isn't Quinn, it's Robin.
When I found this out, I was in a state of shock. I couldn't believe it. I was also very happy because I always thought Barney and Robin were ment to be together. I had been looking forward to seeing this episode all week and it was legendary. What a perfect way to end the season. I look forward to seeing how this crazy story ends in season eight.

The Avengers Review
It's been about a week since I saw Avengers. In 2008 at the end of Iron Man we were promised The Avengers. Was it worth the wait or have we been waiting for 4 years for nothing?
Robert Downey Jr. returns as Tony Stark/Iron Man he has become that character he kills it as he did in his previous 2 movies. Chris Evans returns as Steve Rogers/Captain America he too did an amazing job. His character is trying to ease his way back into a society that he hasn't been part of for a long time, which makes for some humorous scenes. Chris Hemsworth returns as Thor, at the end of the Thor movie you see his character start to mature and he continues to mature throughout the Avengers. Now to a contoversial character. Mark Ruffalo got the role of Bruce Banner/Hulk over Edward Norten who played the role in The Incredible Hulk in 2008. I think Ruffalo did a fine job and i didn't miss Norten at all. Scarlett Johansson returns as Black Widow and she has a bigger role than she did in Iron Man 2. Same goes for Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye who had a brief appearance in Thor. Samuel L. Jackson returns as Nick Fury and he was amazing as always. Last but not least let's talk about the villain. Tom Hiddleston returns as Loki. He turned in the best acting job as a villian since Heath Ledger as the Joker in The Dark Knight.
The action scenes were phenomonal. I don't think any superhero movie has been so action packed in a long time if ever. I liked how the team members didn't get along at first, they didn't come together right away. It was realistic in the sense where if you get four big personalities on a team setting they're going to clash. I loved it when they did come together and fought the last 30 minutes of the movie alone were worth the price of admission.
I believe this is the best superhero movie since The Dark Knight. I prefer it to The Dark Knight for 2 reasons; first of all I prefer Marvel comics over DC. Second The Dark Knight was just a Batman movie, this movie has four superheros. I think Joss Whedon knocked it out of the park, this movie gets 5 stars out of 5.
